- The Sunday School theme is More Than Enough: How Jesus Meets Our Deepest Needs. Next Sunday’s lesson is “Our Need for Peace,” and the scripture is John 14:1-7.David Chapel members and guests are invited to study with us each Sunday at 9:15 am.
- How would life be if you were debt free?The Financial Ministry is offering the seminar “Shrink Your Debt: Try These 10 Steps!” Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 9:00 to 12 noon in the Fellowship Hall.Please sign up at the table after worship today.
- April 16 is the date of the Annual Church Picnic, which will be held at Givens Park.Please sign up in the fellowship hall to bring the designated item for the ministry in which you serve.4.
- Relay for Life of East Austin is Friday, April 22, from 7 pm – 2 am Saturday, April 23.All cancer survivors are asked to sign up in the fellowship hall in order to receive a survivor t-shirt. The Survivors/Caregiver Dinner is Thursday, April 21, at 6 pm in the Mt. Sinai Family Life Center. Please sign up to walk and come to the fellowship hall to make a donation to the DC Walking Disciples’ team. This is your opportunity to celebrate, remember, and fight back!
- The Women’s Enrichment Ministry DIVAS are asked to bring new or gently used women’s business apparel and/or appropriate accessories for the Dress for Success project. Boxes will be provided in the fellowship hall.
- The Annual Spring Banquet for Mission 1 of St. John Association is Friday, April 8, at 7 pm at Embassy Suites Central. Sister Edith McKinney and Coach Charlie Strong are among the honorees, and Pastor Parker is the banquet speaker. Tickets are $35, and you may see Sister Judith Smith in the fellowship hall after worship. April 3 is the deadline for ticket purchases.
- Mission 1 will meet at 6 pm, Monday, April 4, in the fellowship hall. We will continue our study from chapter 11, “The Rest of Selected Memories.”
- April 24, David Chapel will celebrate her 92nd Anniversary, and Rev. Jack Gause of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church will be the guest speaker. “A Church Celebrating God’s Grace and Favor” is the theme, and supporting scriptures are Psalm 145:4 and 2 Corinthians 6:1-2. Family Fun Night is Saturday, April 23, from 6 – 9 pm. Special entertainment will be provided by Lady Mozan, a Christian comedian from Dallas, TX. You won’t want to miss any of the upcoming activities, so please sign up in the fellowship hall after worship today.
- Women, today is the deadline to make the $105 minimum payment for the Desperate for Jesus Women’s Conference in Dallas, July 22-24. Please visit the Women’s Enrichment table in the fellowship hall after worship.
