  • The Sunday School theme for April 17 – May 22 is Beauty from Ashes: Redeeming Your Broken Moments. Next Sunday’s lesson is “Redeemed from Poor Choices,” and the scriptures are Genesis 15:1-6; 16:1-5; 17:1. David Chapel members and guests are invited to study with us each Sunday at 9:15 am.
  • The family of Deacon Ezell Green (Elmo and Sis. Ida Green) wants to thank Pastor Parker and the David Chapel family for kindness extended during their bereavement.
  • Additional April birthday blessings include Deacon Robert Emerson and Suzanne Woodard.
  • April 16th is the date of the Annual Church Picnic, which will be held at Givens Park. Men and women — side dished; children/youth — rolls/bread; youth — dessert; young adults — drinks.
  • The David Chapel Annual Picnic will feature flag-football for players 10+ this year! To participate, please sign up directly after service in the fellowship hall. Referees are needed, also. Please see La Mon Crosby for additional information or to sign up.
  • Attention 2016 Graduates! Please see Rev. Courtney Williams for information and forms releated to your upcoming graduation. He will provide documents and the deadline date. David Chapel wants to celebrate with you.
  • All cancer survivors, please sign up for this year’s relay. Caregivers and others who want to walk or make contributions, see Jolene Hall or Nancy Johnson in the fellowship hall after worship. The Survivors/Caregivers Dinner is Thursday, April 21, at 6 pm in the Mt. Sinai Family Life Center. Survivors must RSVP by April 15th to attend the dinner. Help DC Walking Disciples’ team celebrate and fight back.
  • David Chapel will celebrate her 92nd Anniversary, Sunday, April 24, with Rev. Dr. Jack Gause, pastor of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, as guest preacher. Family Fun Night is Saturday, April 23, from 6 – 8:30 pm. Special entertainment for adults and youth will be provided by Lady Mozan, a Christian comedienne from Dallas, TX. Parents, special entertainment such as balloons and face painting will be provided for the children.fellowship hall.
  • The F.E.W. Committee needs teachers for the nursery through adult plus volunteers in other areas. Interested persons, please stop by the F.E.W. table in the fellowship hall to sign up after worship. Contact Vedia Miles for more information.
