  • The Sunday School theme is More Than Enough:How Jesus Meets Our Deepest Needs. Next Sunday’s lesson is “Our Need for Purpose,” and the scripture is John 15:1-8. Combined adult classes in the sanctuary, and all David Chapel members and guests are invited to study with us each Sunday at 9:15 am.
  • Birthday blessings to the senior adults born in April: Mary Caldwell and Leroy White, April 5; Dolores Hillyer, April 7; and Albert Ray Harvey, April 10. Happy Birthday!
  • Mission 1 will meet at 6 pm tomorrow, April 4, in the fellowship hall. The study will be lesson 11, “The Rest of Selected Memories.”
  • April 16 is the date of the Annual Church Picnic, which will be held at Givens Park. Please sign up in the fellowship hall to bring the designated item for the ministry in which you serve.
  • Today is your final opportunity to purchase tickets for the St. John Mission 1 Annual Spring Banquet which is this Friday, April 8, at 7 pm at Embassy Suites Central. Pastor Parker is the banquet speaker, with Sister Edith McKinney and Coach Charlie Strong among the honorees. Tickets are $35, and you may see Sister Judith Smith in the fellowship hall after worship to show your interest and support for our pastor and the honorees.
  • Sign up in the fellowship hall after worship as a cancer survivor, walker, and/or a donor to the Relay for Life East Austin. This worthwhile fund- raising walk will be Friday, April 22, at Reagan High School track field from 7 pm until 2 am Saturday, April 23. Help the DC Walking Disciples break last year’s record of almost $3000. You may make contributions online, also! See either Sister Jolene Hall or Sister Nancy Johnson.
  • April 24th marks the 92nd Anniversary of David Chapel’s existence. Rev. Jack Gause, pastor of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, will be the guest preacher. This year’s theme is “A Church Celebrating God’s Grace and Favor Through Generations, and the scriptures are Psalm 145:4 and 2 Corinthians 6:1-2. Saturday, April 23, from 6-8 pm, Lady MoZan, comedienne from Dallas, Texas will be the featured guest at Family Fun Night. Please remember to sign up in the fellowship hall after worship today.
  • The deadline for making the $105 minimum payment to the Desperate for Jesus Conference is today! Please visit the Women’s Ministry table in the fellowship hall after worship.
  • Congratulate Pastor Parker for being named “Father of the Year” by the American Diabetes Association. Read more about this award in the April Pulse publication.
  • Please join me in welcoming Destiny Garcia to the David Chapel family, another special gift from God.
