David Chapel continues to support the Relay for Life fundraising campaign in honor of all its members who have bravely battled cancer. This year, Sis. Nancy Johnson is leading the team in memory or her sister and our beloved member, Jolene Hall, who passed away from cancer in October 2016.
Here are some practical ways you can become a vital part of the effort to make our team a winner:
- Become a member of our team, the DC Walking Disciples
- Complete the Registration Form as a participant or cancer survivor.
- All participants, except cancer survivors, please pay the registration fee.
- Raise $100 or more, the goal of each team member.
- Ask family, friends, co-workers, etc. to give you a donation toward your goal.
- Sign up to walk/run for the relay which begins at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 28 and ends Saturday, April 29 at 7:00 a.m. You select your time to participate.
- Make a contribution to RFL East Austin.
The team goal is $3,000. With our full support and commitment, we can raise that and more. DC has consistently supported this event and participated in a mighty way. Sis. Johnson will be in the fellowship hall taking donations and registering members for a time to walk. Donations can also be made online at www.relayforlife.org. Navigate to “Donate” and search for the team, “DC Walking Disciples.” The deadline for donations is April 28, 2017. Our strong financial and event participation is a fitting tribute for the tremendous effort and love Sis. Hall put into this initiative and others promoting cancer awareness.
