Announcements for 8/6 – 8/12

  1. The next Sunday school lesson for August 6th is “A Channel of Comfort,” (2 Corinthians 1:2-7). David Chapel members and guests are invited to study with us at 9:15 a.m.
  2. Today if the final day to place your book order “Harnessing the Power of Unity” by R.M. Cullins.  The upcoming Institute Revival will be held in September.  Please see the table in the fellowship hall following worship for more information.
  3. The iAM ministry is seeking volunteers for the “iAM ministry education connection literacy program.” If you enjoy reading, desire to help children improve their literacy and have 30 minutes a week to offer, the iAM ministry would love to talk to you.  There will be an “interest meeting” today, follow worship in the sanctuary.  Please join us.
  4. Parents of infants and pre-school children, today is the final day to sign-up for the Austin Zoo Outing. Tashia Coleman or Shalane Sheppard will be available in the fellowship hall after worship to accept your payment.
  5. David Chapel members, next Sunday, August 6th, the deacons & ministers’ and their wives are delighted to have a “meet and greet with you” after worship. A plan in place to dismiss you according to your zip code, and guide you where you will to meet your deacon or ministers and their wives.  Join us for this wonderful fellowship, the wives of deacons and ministers ministry.   
  6. Mission One will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting, Monday, August 7th at 6:00 pm in the fellowship hall.  Please join us as we continue our study of “Tell Someone.”  Please make plans to attend.
  7. The iAM ministry is hosting a ‘school supply drive.’  Monetary donations and school supplies are now being accepted through August 12. A list of school supplies has been posted on the display board in the education hallway; a hardcopy is available on the table in the foyer.
  8. The Women’s Enrichment Ministry Bible study will resume, Tuesday, August 15th at 11:00 am at David Chapel, and at host homes at 7:00 pm.  A limited number of books are still available, please see Rev. Davis today in the fellowship hall after worship.
  9. Enjoy an “Evening of JAZZ and a dinner cruise” on Lake Austin, Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 6:30 pm with the senior adult ministry.  The senior adults invite you to join them for an evening of fun, sign up is required, a senior adult will be available in the fellowship hall today after worship.  Cost is $50 per person, for checks, please make payable to David Chapel.
  10. The senior adult ministry is excited about their annual weekend September 8th through 10th.  Platinum Plus and the Deacon’s & Minister’s Wives invite you to join them in volunteering to “take a senior to lunch” or to “spend the day with one.” Sign-up sheets are available each Sunday through the annual weekend.
  11. Members and visitors, please view the DC monthly PULSE publication for additional announcements not shown available on the website at davidchapel.org. The Pulse is the primary vehicle for news, announcements, and publicity for upcoming events and initiatives in the church and community.  Ministry leaders, please remember to check the online church calendar, weekly and regularly for new events and scheduling changes.
