  • You’re invited to attend Sunday school at 9:15 am. Next Sunday’s lesson is “God’s Promise of New Home” The scripture passage is Revelations 21: 1-8. All Adult Classes will study combined in the Sanctuary.
  • Happy October Birthdays to the following David Chapel Senior Adults: Margaret Reed, Johnnie Fowler, Jacque Pleasants, George Etta Swisher, Lola Carter, Juanita Franklin, Nancy Johnson, Luella Burse, Clara Jackson, Betty Overton, Olivia Ussery, and Shirley Jenson
  • Getting Started with Medicare! Jackie Dozier will conduct a workshop on Medicare on Saturday, October 10th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. This interactive workshop provides Medicare basics including Medicare options, eligibility, enrollment and your rights. It is designed for new Medicare recipients, caregivers, and anyone wanting information to make informed healthcare decisions. Please sign up in the Fellowship Hall after worship. This event is limited to 20 participants.
  • Please help me congratulate Pastor Parker on being appointed the Chair of the Ministers conference of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America and Honored with the establishment of the “Joseph C Parker Diversity Award” given by the Austin Bar Association. This award is named in his honor as the first African-American President of the Austin Bar Association and trailblazer for minority lawyers who followed in his footsteps.
  • Mission 1 will hold its regularly meeting on Monday, November 2nd at 6:00 PM. In the Fellowship Hall. Please join us as we continue our study from “A Woman’s Right to Rest” Lesson 8 entitled The Rest of Commitment.
  • The Music Worship and Fine Art Ministry presents “Black Nativity” on Saturday, Dec 18th at 1:30 pm and 7 pm. At the Don T. Haynes Theater at LBJ High School. Make plans to attend this annual production that showcases outstanding actors and singer from across the Austin area. Tickets are five dollars and will be available in the Fellowship Hall starting Sunday, Oct 18th after morning Worship.
