  • The Sunday School theme for April 17 – May 22 is Beauty from Ashes: Redeeming Your Broken Moments. Next Sunday’s lesson is “Redeemed from Broken Relationships,” and the scriptures are Genesis 27:41; 33:1-11. David Chapel members and guests are invited to study with us each Sunday at 9:15 am.
  • This week Pastor Parker and the David Chapel received expressions of gratitude from the following persons: Sylvia and Lenny Dingle and Douglas Brown for prayers and many other kindnesses received during their time of bereavement.
  • Today is the final Sunday for cancer survivors, donors, and walkers to declare your attentions and make donations to Relay for Lie East Austin. All cancer survivors, please sign up for this year’s relay. Caregivers and others who want to walk or make contributions, see Jolene Hall or Nancy Johnson in the fellowship hall after worship. The Survivors/Caregivers Dinner is Thursday, April 21, at 6 pm in the Mt. Sinai Family Life Center for those who responded Friday, April 15. Help DC Walking Disciples’ team celebrate and fight back.
  • David Chapel will celebrate her 92nd Anniversary, Sunday, April 24, with Rev. Dr. Jack Gause, pastor of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, as guest preacher. Family Fun Night is Saturday, April 23, from 6 – 8:30 pm. Special entertainment for adults and youth will be provided by Lady Mozan, a Christian comedienne from Dallas, TX. Parents, special entertainment such as balloons and face painting will be provided for the children.fellowship hall.
  • Infant, Pre-school, children, and youth volunteers: CPRT Training will be Saturday, April 30 from 8 am -11 am in rooms 4ABC. Show your card to Tashia Coleman if you have completed this training already.
  • The F.E.W. Committee needs teachers for the nursery through adult plus volunteers in other areas. Interested persons, please stop by the F.E.W. table in the fellowship hall to sign up after worship. Contact Vedia Miles for more information.
  • Congratulations to Sisters Shirley Jenson, Olivia Ussery, and Vera Williams for three years of service to Meals on Wheels and More! Many others in our congregation have given years of service to this organization that ministers to the Austin community.
  • A warm welcome for Lindsay Upson, a new David Chapel member.
