- The Sunday school theme for the month of September 4th through October 9th is UNVARNISHED TRUTH: Life’s Greatest Story. The Sunday school lesson for next Sunday is: “One Great Creator,” (Psalm 33:6-9, 13-15). David Chapel members and guests are invited to study with us at 9:15 am.
- THANK YOU! David Chapel church family received thank you cards from the families of Sis. Lee Henry and Rev. Mary Brooks, expressing their appreciation of your support and prayers during their time of sorrow. Thanks for the phone calls, cards, prayers and just being there, it really means a lot.
- David Chapel Senior Adult Ministry will be celebrating their annual, Sunday, September 11th at 10:30 am. The guest speaker is Rev. Walter Jasper of Antioch Baptist Church, Austin, TX. This year’s theme is: “Mature Christians Standing Firm Serving with a Godly Swagger,” (Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:58); Saturday, September 10, Platinum Plus seniors will have lunch at the Macaroni Grill, at 701 Stassney Lane, at 1:00 pm. All senior adults are invited to attend.
- TRAINING AND WORKSHOP. DC leaders, facilitators, and ministry staff members please be reminded to register for a FREE training session on effective teaching and presentation tools. The training will be conducted by Rev. Keith Lowry with the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT). Please check your email and respond to register and to ensure there are adequate training materials and accommodations. The training is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14, from 6:30-8:30 pm INSTEAD of prayer and Bible study. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, September 7.
- School Supplies are still NEEDED. Please help support students by donating school supplies throughout the month of August. Please place the donated items in the designated container in the fellowship hall. Your support is appreciated.
- The “Word for You Today” devotionals are available today immediately after worship on the table in the foyer. Please pick up your copy today.
- The Infant and Preschool Ministry is seeking donations throughout the month of August for the Ronald McDonald House to assist persons residing there during the illness of a family member. Items requested includes: household, kitchen, bath, bedroom and miscellaneous. Please see the August Edition of the Pulse for a detailed list of items. Please place donated items in the designated box in the fellowship hall.
- Please remember to register to VOTE! The presidential election is Tuesday, November 8, 2016. You may register to vote through October 8th. Mail-in applications are available in the fellowship hall after worship. For more information, please see Sis. Nancy Thompson.
