David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is hosting the Hampton (Va.) University Concert Choir on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM CST. Under the leadership of Professor Omar J. Dickenson, the choir will present a myriad of musical compositions and arrangements that are guaranteed to engage, enlighten, entertain and encourage all who attend. This historical and monumental concert comes 20 years after the Hampton University Concert Choir’s last visit to Austin.
In the spirit of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) love, Tuesday’s concert features a special appearance and guest performance by the Huston-Tillotson University Concert Choir under the leadership of Dr. Gloria Quinlan. The choirs will combine their ensembles to deliver some of their shared repertoires and will conclude with the customary Hampton University Alma Mater. Hampton Alumni, current students, and parents of students are encouraged to attend and participate in the singing of their Alma Mater.
